Dev Notes

May 18

Login improvements: Can now log in with username OR email. Added "Remember me" checkbox — saves to browser only, not our servers. Better privacy, easier access.

Infrastructure change: Ditching Railway. Moving everything to a self-hosted laptop server (i7-9750H, 16GB RAM). Tired of build limits and daemon errors. Will have full control and zero platform restrictions.

May 18

Bug fixes: Check-in timer now properly resets to 15 min after skill check (was stuck in break loop). Session timer resumes correctly after break phase. Added guard to prevent immediate re-trigger of check-in.

May 18

Scoping out a doc chat feature. Upload your lecture PDFs or notes and ask questions about them. Probably wire it up to Gemini for the smarts. 3-5 days of work when I get around to it.

May 17

Private test build is live. Friends can now sign up and test all features end-to-end. Raid lock system added — a new raid can't be started until the current one is finished or abandoned.

May 17

Big UX pass: mobile hamburger nav, study streak badge on the dashboard hero card, 8 achievement badges on profile with progress bars, sitewide toast notifications replacing all alert() calls, friend invite links with referral banners on signup, and error states on every API call.

May 17

Combat system complete. Boss battles with 3-phase escalation, damage reduction, passive regen, and level-scaled stats. Raids now have chosen durations (25/50/90 min), countdown timers, and infinite boss waves until time runs out.

May 16

Added multi-theme support: Sakura (pastel pink), neon purple, and minimal mono, plus the default neon green. Theme picker lives in the nav bar. Character sprite now appears in the combat scene with attack and hurt animations.

May 15

Finished the full gamified UI overhaul. Daily quests are live with XP rewards. XP and leveling system added with an exponential curve and quest difficulty scaling per user level.
